Paul Revere’s son, Joseph Warren Revere was quite elderly but still alive when he lost his sons Paul Joseph Revere and Edward H. R. R evere in the Civil War. It is a testament to the length of some of the Revere family generations that Joseph Warren Revere and his brother John Revere’s father and older brother fought in the Revolutionary. Two famous Revere portraits by J.S. Copley and Gilbert Stuart hang in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts which also houses the finest collection of Paul Revere’s silver. The back of the church contains a memorial for members of the church who were killed in the Civil War.
